Clean hotel with genuinely helpful and extremely helpful employees from check-in to check-out. Magnificent location in a pedestrian precinct, original style building. Great to have an outdoor restaurant with continental or English breakfast and the rooftop view. Rewritten: The hotel is spotless, and the staff is truly helpful throughout my stay. The location is fantastic, situated in a charming pedestrian area with a unique building design. I loved the option of dining outside for breakfast while enjoying the beautiful rooftop view.

    Location

I have been in many places, but never before have I been in such terrible hotel! The only good thing about it is the location – pretty close to the St John Co-Cathedral in Valletta. And the good news end here. The disadvantages: First of all, I was surprised to see that there was NO RECEPTION. The cash desk of the restaurant on the ground floor served also for that purpose and you need to wait your turn after all tables are satisfied. On my arrival before the check-in time, I was offered to leave my luggage in the storage room of that restaurant (next to the cheese)! On top of that they asked me to pay the room in advance, before I had even seen it! Reluctantly I did, much to my demise. The room had one ‘fake’ window looking at the hotel corridor (that means other guests can peep in as they come and go), and another very small opening in the bathroom toward a shaft shared with the kitchen of the restaurant. The latter gave us special access to all the gossip and the shouting from early morning. Truly, it was noted the room offers no view, but I did not know this means NO AIR as well. As I found out later, this is the case with most of the rooms. To compensate for that, air conditioning is charged on consumption – you are given a card just like in the public transport. Without air from outside it is obviously the only option. The elevator has a working time (!) – the working time of the restaurant. When closed, you need to take the stairs, which are quite steep. NO CLEANING was done for the three days of my stay. NO change of linen. Not to mention mine had quite a hole in it. And as a bonus (obviously from the kitchen), I had to kill the biggest cockroach I have ever seen – 10 cm (4 in)! From day 1 I was asking the staff to give me a receipt for what I paid and this seemed to irritate them quite a lot. I got one after insisting on check-out.

Quirky but ideally placed for a city trip, good value for money, excellent food and service, clean and well-equipped accommodation.

Nothing for us but remember this is like a taverna/pub with rooms rather than a full-blown hotel. For those with mobility problems the lack of a lift outside restaurant opening times may be a problem. Some of the rooms do not have an external view, we understand (but ours had a beautiful view of the Cathedral and close to the sound of the bells).

The location was prime and best possible, at a short distance from a 16th-century palace. Besides, it was near the centre of the city and restaurants and bars and old town of Valletta: )

Enjoyed simple, yet satisfying breakfasts that included hot chocolate for my little one. Rooms boasted lovely views. Great spot not too far from an archaeology museum. 🏛️

delightful hotel with courteous personnel and astonishing view of the harbor on one side and of st johns co-cathedral on the other. good basic breakfast with variety of food. good service offered. had free wi-fi in all rooms. very central location to call a cab for the airport that usually costs 15-20. also, easy to get to republic street.

    Breakfast fairly basic.

The room I have been given which is number 43 on the fourth floor. I am planning to come again soon, but I would like to have a room with a view or any other room with a larger shower! My favourite one,so far is the number 11. Thanks

We couldn't recommend more staying at this boutique hotel. Thanks very much guys for a lovely stay on Sundays or on holidays. Plus, the location is excellent, minutes from an opulent 16th - century church. Need to point out that it's right by the city centre;)))

    It was all superb.
